How much does your child really know about the environment and the importance of conservation?

Surely, many parents have done their share of educating their children, and so have our schools, but how much hands-on experience have the kids had? One sure way to insure some would be for youngsters to spend a week at one of the four state Department of Environmental Conser­vation summer camps. Last year, a record 1,541 youths attended these camps.

For 61 years, DEC has had a residential summer camp program instructing the state’s youth in conservation. Each camp offers eight weeks of camping in July and August and insures that those attending will learn and exper­ience the true meaning and value of the outdoors.
