Culture & Heritage Museums
• Junior Explorer at Museum of York County: Rising first and second grades, 9 a.m. to noon, June 6 to 10. Explore the Museum of York County's exhibits, nature trail and planetarium. $95 for members, $115 for nonmembers. Registration deadline: May 23.• Critter Camp at Museum of York County: Rising kindergarten students, 9 a.m. to noon, June 20 to 24. Campers learn about animals that leap, fly and crawl through crafts, games and snacks. $65 for members, $85 for nonmembers. Registration deadline: June 6.
• Nature Detectives Camp at Museum of York County: Rising third and fourth grades, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 13 to 17. $95 for members, $115 for nonmembers. Registration deadline: May 31.
• Whimmy Diddles and Wagon Wheels: Children's History Camp: Rising fourth to sixth grades, Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 20 to 24. Campers travel back in time to experience lifestyles and tasks common to children 150 to 200 years ago. Activities include open-hearth cooking, writing with a quill pen, historic games and take-home crafts. Campers will interact with sheep, chickens and other livestock. $160 for members, $180 for nonmembers. Registration deadline: June 6.
• Eewww, Yuck Teacher Camp: Three-day workshop 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 27; 7 to 11 p.m., June 28; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 29. Teachers will learn about insects, spiders and other arthropods, how to identify them, collect and prepare for display and how to keep live critters in the classroom. $25.

Rock Hill Community Theatre
• "Stepping Out!" Grades six to 12, 1 to 4 p.m., June 27 to July 1. Improve dance skills through an exploration of hip hop and jazz. $65.
• "Acting Out!" Grades four to six, 1 to 4 p.m., July 11 to 15. Students will practice controlling the voice, body and imagination with an emphasis on focus and ensemble. $65.
• "Center Stage!" Grades seven to 12, 1 to 4 p.m., July 25 to 29. Intensive improvisation and scripted work will help students develop acting skills while creating believable characters. $65.
• "Play, play, play!" Grades one to three, 1 to 4 p.m., June 27 to July 1. Theater games will teach students to control their voices, bodies and imaginations. $65.

Center for the Arts
• Artist Trading Cards: Ages 9 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, June 6 to 10. Teaches children about the latest craze in art: artist trading cards. These small pieces of original art, created with stamping and collage techniques, may be traded or kept.• Drawing for Ages 7 to 9: 9 a.m. to noon, June 6 to 10. Children learn developmentally appropriate steps to improve drawing skills in many media.
• Fabric Jewelry: Ages 12 and up, 1 to 4 p.m., June 6 to 10. Participants make fabric beads, a rag necklace and more.
• Drawing for Ages 10 to 12: 1 to 4 p.m., June 6 to 10. Children learn developmentally appropriate steps to improve drawing skills in many media.
• Theater Workshop for Children: Ages 6 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, June 6 to 10. Children will be introduced to theater through creative drama and voice and movement. Workshop will end with a performance.
• Theater Workshop for Teens: Ages 13 to 16. 1 to 4 p.m. June 6 to 10. Teens will be introduced to theater through creative drama and voice and movement. Workshop will end with a performance.
• Sculpture and 3-Dimensional Art: Ages 7 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, June 13 to 17. Students will explore three-dimensional design through use of various art materials.
• Drawing for Teens: Middle and high school students, 9 a.m. to noon, June 13 to 17. Teens learn various sketching techniques in a variety of media.
• Book Arts: Ages 7 to 12, 1 to 4 p.m., June 13 to 17. Students will create their own books in a variety of ways, designing pages using painting and printmaking.
• Puppets on Parade: Ages 8 to 12, 1 to 4 p.m., June 13 to 17. Learn to create your own troupe of puppets including stringed marionettes, finger puppets and jointed rod figures.
• Sculpting with Clay: Ages 7 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, June 20 to 24. Students create sculptures using hand-building techniques including coiling and slabbing. Self-hardening clay will not be fired.
• Jewelry Making: Ages 10 to adult, 9 a.m. to noon, June 20 to 24. Participants learn wire wrapping techniques with stones and beads. Color, design and function will be taught while students create at least five pieces of wearable art.
• Drawing: Ages 7 to 12, 1 to 4 p.m., June 20 to 24. Children will develop fundamental drawing skills to enrich ability.
• 2nd Time Around: Junk Creatures/Trash Sculpture: Ages 8 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, June 27 to July 1. Kids learn the "art" of recycling as they create sculpture out of junk.
• Everybody's Art: Ages 7 to 9, 1 to 4 p.m., June 27 to July 1. Students create "not-so-ordinary" art: Elbow paintings, knee pots, whimsical shoes and happy faces.
• Snippets: Making Art from Fabric Pieces: Ages 12 and up, 1 to 4 p.m., June 27 to July 1. Participants learn to make "paintings" using scraps of fabric. No sewing is required.
• Intermediate Jewelry Making: Ages 12 to adult, 9 a.m. to noon, June 27 to July 1. Students will use techniques from the previous jewelry-making class to make more complex projects, including woven metal chains and multi-strand bracelets.
• Kinetic Art: Ages 8 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, July 5 to 8. Kids will make pinwheels, kites, pull toys and mobiles.
• The Art of Paper Folding and Origami: Ages 8 to 12, 1 to 4 p.m., July 5 to 8. Students learn Japanese origami and other paper-folding techniques.
• Art of the Masters: Ages 9 to 12, 9 a.m. to noon, July 11 to 15. Kids will learn to paint like Michelangelo or be Leonardo da Vinci for the day. Styles of the Renaissance, Impressionism and action painting will be explored.
• Make a 3-D Art Book: Ages 8 to 12. 1 to 4 p.m. July 11 to 14. Write and build a 3-D art book of individual work.
All Center for the Arts camps are $75 for members, $85 for nonmembers. Classes are held at the Center for the Arts, 121 E. Main St., and the Tom Gettys Center, 201 E. Main St. Registration is required two weeks before camp begins.
