The annual Bethel College Summer Soccer League returns for its 13th season this summer after coming off a successful season in 2004. Last year, the league had 16 teams and 200 players.
The 2005 soccer league will consist of eight-a-side games, beginning June 14, 2005 and running into late July. There will be two leagues of play: a competitive league for advanced male players (A League) and a league for high school, older males and college female players (B League).

Summer soccer games will be played Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Bethel College soccer complex at K-15 and East 29th Street, northeast of Goering Hall. The league itself will consist of eight-to-10 games.

The entry fee of $60 includes a team jersey. The entry deadline is June 8. The league schedule and roster will be posted on the Bethel College Web site by June 10.

For more information regarding the league, or to request an application form, contact Gerry Sieber at 284-5297 or by e-mail at gsieber@bethelks.edu.

Also available to younger players will be a pair of summer camps for students entering first-through-eighth grades.

The first camp will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 1 to 4 while the second will run at the same time from June 6 to 9. The camps will meet at the Bethel College soccer complex at K-15 and East 29th Street, northeast of Goering Hall.

The camp fee will be $55 and will include a camp T-shirt and camp certificate. There is a $10 discount for each additional family member who enrolls in the camp. The fee for both camps will be $90, and scholarships are available for low-income families.

The camps will emphasize the fundamentals of soccer, games and contests. Camp staff members will include Bethel College Men's soccer coach Gerry Sieber, Hesston College soccer coach Arnie Sharp, Newton coach Nathan Dick, Valley Center girls' coach Angela Stevenson, Hutchinson girls' coach Chris Reeves, Berean Academy coach Russ Busenitz, former Bethel College varsity player Tim Nussbaum and current Bethel College varsity players.
