Middletown enrolling for summer camps

MIDDLETOWN — Middletown’s summer arts camps will return in July, offered in one-week sessions at Bayshore Middle School and High School South for children entering grades one through eight.
Arts-and-crafts camps, in which participants will create theme-related crafts by drawing, painting or sculpting, are offered for children entering grades one through three. The camps include “Jungle Safari Camp” July 11-15, “Beach Party Camp” July 18-22, “Terrific Tees and Accessories Camp” July 25-29, and “Cartoon Fun Camp” Aug. 1-5. All arts-and-crafts camps take place between 9 and 11:30 a.m. and cost $70 per child.
Students entering grades three through eight are provided with a more challenging but equally fun curriculum.
The “Art Camp” is offered July 11-15 and Aug. 1-5 and will include drawing, painting and sculpting.
The “Acting Camp” will take place July 18-22 and will focus on improvisation, story telling, script work, monologues, voice projection and theater games.
The “Performing Arts Camp” is offered July 25-29 and includes instruction in acting, singing and dancing.
The “Music Camp” is offered July 18-22 and July 25-29 and includes activities and lessons that will help develop skills in chorus, music melody, rhythm, history and performance, culminating in a performance titled “Middletown Idol.”
All four camps will take place between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and cost $100 per child.
