Strokes count for trophy, summer day camps at county golf open

When campers jump into the pool on the first hot day of the 2006 Greene County Summer Day Camp Program, one of the groups that they will have to thank for the cool-down is the golfers in Greene County.
Labor Day weekend golfers from all over the county participated in the Greene County Open, held at Rohanna's Golf Course, Greene County Country Club and the Carmichaels Golf Club. Proceeds from the event benefit Greene County's day camps program.
"We are very happy to have partnered with the three Greene County golf courses in providing an event that will support our day camps program," said Greene County Department of Recreation Director Jake Blaker. "It is an added benefit that the Open provided an opportunity for golfers to experience play at each of our local courses."
