Located steps from Regents Park, the University College London offers the perfect base for your time in London. Bloomsbury, a safe, affluent area on the north side of the city provides fast access to London's timeless attractions. Minutes from the famed West End theater district and the endurably fashionable neighborhood of Chelsea, you're in prime territory for upscale shopping, international dining and great history.

And we don’t just mean ancient history! These neighborhoods of London have been home to contemporary cultural icons and historical figures like Margaret Thatcher, actors including Hugh Grant and Kate Beckinsale, musical legends like the Beatles and Rolling Stones, and plenty of literary giants like Mark Twain, J.R.R. Tolkien, Agatha Christie and Oscar Wilde. Now you’ll be living in the same stylish neighborhood. Get ready to experience it all for an unforgettable three weeks!

More Than Just Tea & Crumpets

Choices, choices, choices! Ready to savor true international flavor? ACA serves up amazing meals throughout your stay in England. Start your days with a breakfast buffet, featuring a serious English breakfast of cereal, pastries, baked treats, and fresh juices and fruits. You’ll have no problem fueling up for the day.

For dinner Monday through Friday, you’ll enjoy ACA’s exclusive Dining-on-the-Town-Plan, which lets you choose from a variety of ACA-selected restaurants – and it’s included in your tuition! Whether you want to tackle some local delicacies or would rather stick with American-style favorites, you’re sure to find a restaurant that suits your taste.

Once a week, if you want, you can also venture beyond the Dining-on-the-Town-Plan and visit additional restaurants of your choice. ACA will even provide pounds to help pay the tab! It’s an additional opportunity to sample outstanding local restaurants featuring exciting international cuisine. Bring plenty of friends so everyone can sample and share! Wondering what to try first? Don’t worry, ACA staff are always at the restaurant ready to recommend a few favorites.
Staying in Shape – English Style

Just because you’re away from home doesn’t mean you must sacrifice your fitness routine. While in London, you’ll have access to the fantastic gym at University College London – a premier athletic facility. Bloomsbury Fitness Center recently underwent a multi-million pound renovation. This gym is truly state-of-the-art, with a fitness center, swimming pool, exercise studio, squash courts and yoga classes. Looking to take your exercise outside? You’ll have access to the Royal Parks system first-rate outdoor facilities.

If you’re feeling extra competitive, challenge fellow ACA students to a game of "proper" football, tennis or basketball. Want to combine a little sightseeing with your workout program? Join ACA staff for an early evening jog through Regent’s Park, or sign up for our Englishmen vs. Americans footy match. See you on the pitch!
Playing it Safe

At ACA, we know safety comes first. Our eight-to-one student-to-staff ratio – one of the lowest in the industry – lets us provide each student with unmatched attention and supervision. Our residence features a front desk staffed 24 hours a day with trained security personnel for your comfort and convenience. ACA staff members also live on every student-occupied floor and accompany students on all activities and excursions. ACA uses private transportation for our weekday activities and weekend adventure trips – never public transportation. ACA staff members also carry cell phones for emergency contact.
Travel to London*

Students traveling to England fly nonstop on ACA-staffed group flights from the New York area to London’s Heathrow Airport. From there, they will be personally escorted to connecting motorcoach service for the short drive into London.

Students attending the Paris extension will fly home from Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport.

We are happy to assist with arrangements for students connecting to the New York area in order to meet the ACA group flight. Contact the ACA office for additional information.
