The Belmont Hill campus remains alive with activity throughout the summer, with a wide range of programs offered. Sport Camps provide boys and girls ages 6-15 with a variety of opportunities to enjoy and learn more about their favorite sports. Our Summer School enters its 30th year, offering academic courses, art, and tennis workshops for students in grades 6-12. At Belmont Hill, summer is a time to grow.
A Place to Grow
For over 31 years, students have been welcomed to the Belmont Hill School campus to participate in our multi-faceted summer program. Whether interested in academic courses, art workshops or tennis clinics, girls and boys for more than a generation have developed skills and friendships on our campus. As we often say, "At Belmont Hill, summer is a time to grow." We offer a vast array of academic courses, whether for enrichment or greater confidence in a subject, as well as opportunities for students to delve into artistic expression.
The Summer School offers a wide range of academic programs for credit, for enrichment, or just for fun.
The six-week academic options include courses in math, science, language, English, history, ESL, speech and debate, computers and test preparation (SAT Test Preparation for high school students, and SSAT Preparation for middle school students). Our goal is to give each student the firmest grasp of the subject matter in the time available. Students find they are able to accomplish a great deal in six weeks.
The three-week sessions offer workshops in math, English, writing, study skills and test preparation. These courses are designed to allow students to work within specific areas in a concentrated three-week session. The workshops give students the chance to improve skills and better prepare for the next academic year.
Summer Arts Program
Belmont Hill Summer Arts Program is a comprehensive arts program that allows students in grades 6 through 12 to explore performing and visual arts. Art workshops are offered in two three-week sessions. All courses are taught by artists and teachers who offer students the opportunity to discover their individual talents and develop skills. The art courses are suited for both the beginner and experienced artist. On the last day of each three-week session, parents are invited to an Arts Festival, an occasion that showcases the students' artwork and performances.
Summer Tennis Program
Any boy or girl age in grades 6 to 12, whether experienced or new to the game, is welcome to participate in our summer tennis program. The goal of each three-week session is to improve individual fundamentals and level of play. Young players are grouped according to age, grade and playing experience for the best instruction and skill development. Many families find the tennis program a fine complement to academic classes. Enrollment in the tennis program is limited to students who are also enrolled in summer school classes or workshops.
