This is a familymusic camp for amateur musicians aged 4 1/2 years to 99 years. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant. The program consists of 7 independent week-long sessions, each with a different musical theme, from Early Music to Classical to Jazz; Chamber music to Choral music; traditional to Celtic to other world music. Professional musicians, carefully chosen for their positive attitude and their excellent pedagogy, coach, conduct, teach and encourage all participants to improve their musical level. Amateurs of all levels are welcome, and all have the life-changing opportunity of making music with other amateurs, in a supportive atmosphere, and a stunningly beautiful natural environment situated on the banks of Lake MacDonald, in the Laurentian mountains region of Quebec. The program celebrates 65 years of existence in 2018, and is proud to be a totally bilingual (English/French) organization. All classes and activities are conducted in both official languages. Separate programs for children (4 1/2 to 11 years), adolescents (12-22) and adults are available, and teens are also welcomed into the adult classes, making a week at CAMMAC a memorable vacation for all family members.. In additional to music, there are daily sports activities and arts and crafts for the children and teens; a tennis court, supervised beach, canoes and rowboats.
