Half and Full day sessions available at our lovely facility located in G. Ross Lord Park in North Toronto. Join us for a skills based education in riding and horse care where the focus is on fun and providing a safe, supportive environment.
CARD provides year-round therapeutic riding classes to riders with special needs, which makes us uniquely suited to working with children of all abilities and needs. Our camp provides an integrated experience with an emphasis on ability and cooperation.
Riders will enjoy our indoor and outdoor rings and riding on the park trails. There is an end of session Parent's day and campers take home a workbook as a record of their camp experience.
Groups are limited to 4/group to provide a quality experience, and maintain a high camper : staff ratio of attention. Our Instructors have first aid certification, and are experienced with a variety of special needs in terms of health concerns or learning styles.
Campers will learn about riding and horses through a combination of games and activities appropriate to their age and maturity, and will establish a foundation for future riding in any discipline, along with skills they can apply to all aspects of their lives: self-confidence, problem-solving, and team building.
Students must be 6-16yrs (individual expceptions will be considered) and under 160Lbs.
Campers with special needs must be independent for toileting and eating- assistance is only provided for horse-related activities.
