Initially, I thought I had found a reasonably priced coed camp with some nice perks including horseback riding at no additional cost and day trips to baseball games of Yankee farm team. However, once the kids were home from their first summer I started to become concerned about a number of issues, including lax attention by nursing staff, poor communication when issues came up while kids were at camp, disparate treatment of campers who were children of staff and most alarmingly a tolerance for anti-semitism.
Considering a large percentage of paying campers come from Jewish families I found it difficult to believe that the owner would allow any anti-semitism and was sure the issues would be promptly addressed once brought to his attention. Unfortunately, my confidence was misplaced and the owner tolerated comments by staff member's child who was camper such as "I like that Jewish kids wear yamakas because I know who to avoid."
I will not allow my children to return.
