Camp JORI is a co-ed residential camp located on Worden’s Pond in Southern Rhode Island. Families may choose a 2 week experience for their first time camper, or a 4 or 8 week experience for first time or returning camper. JORI provides a well rounded camp experience that includes field sports, archery, ceramics, theatre arts, swimming, archery, radio station, and waterfront activities. Jewish Culture is a part of our daily activities. Our staff is selected for its commitment to providing a friendly, safe environment in which JORI campers can try new activities and improve skills in others. Many JORI staff members have grown up with us. We also employ Israeli staff which helps to provide a connection to Israel for our campers. Shabbat is celebrated with a festive dinner, camper led services, special events, and closed with Havdalah in a beautiful open-air setting. Campers in grades 2-10 live in a nurturing, family-like environment in brand new cabins complete with showers and bathrooms. Camper meals are served family style in our magnificent new dining room. Dietary Laws are observed. Camp JORI has recently been awarded a Spielberg Fellowship, a program of the Foundation for Jewish Camping supported, in part, by the Righteous Persons Foundation. We look forward to an expanded program in theater arts. There is camper space available for the summer of 2005.
