Located in the historic and scenic communities of Coventry and Andover, Connecticut, the Channel 3 Kids Camp is a well-established, residential camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 12. We are rapidly approaching our centennial anniversary (2010) in providing disadvantaged children and youth an opportunity to attend a high quality program that positively impact their lives.
The Channel 3 Kids Camp takes prides in providing both exceptional recreational and educational activities for the children to experience. Can you imagine walking on the canopy of the trees, making your own movie, learning about how a tomato grows, or experiencing hiking and setting up a campsite miles deep into the forest?
In 2006 we celebrate our tenth anniversary of our highly successful Leadership Development Program, which recognizes previous campers for their outstanding behavior, positive attitude, and leadership traits. These 20 carefully chosen youth with the proper guidance we believe could be among the leaders of tomorrow, if given the opportunity. The Explorers, 13 and 14 year-olds, learn the skills necessary to live successfully in a close-knit community and to become positive role models for our younger campers. The CIT's, 15 and 16 year-olds continue their leadership development with mentoring from senior counselors, guest speakers from the community, and the from carrying out their many initiatives and responsibilities
