Our camps at Circle D farm are geared for FUN and EDUCATION! The day is filled with all the aspects of horse care needed to own your own horse. The children get to eat, breathe and live horses all day. They get a riding lesson each day and get to experience western, english and bareback riding. We even have trail rides.
We will accept any level of riding experience in the camp riders. Whether it is your first time on a horse or whether you are a seasoned show rider. Many of the children that come here are from other farms and instructors. We aim to achieve lessons the produce high level riders with a confidence that will carry them for many years to come.
This camp is HANDS ON. The children learn to saddle, groom, pick feet, bathe and clip the horses. By the time camp is done, those horses are sparkling! This is why camp is enjoyed just as much by the horses. They love the attention. All of our horses are seasoned retired show horses. All have been around the block quite a bit and are the safest of all the horses we have at the farm. They are gentle and patient.
Each camper will do a craft which will be a memento of their week here. Bring a swim suit, because the last hour is filled with swimming in the pool. Nothing is better than cooling off on a hot day.
The addition of the overnight camp will be a blast! Campers get to pitch a tent in the indoor arena. We do an evening trail ride and then cook marshmallows and have a camp fire. There might even be a scary campfire story or two.
