June 8-11 Monday-Thursday

Discover how different classes of colonists, and our own ancestors, lived in the 1700s at the birth of America! See their clothing, games, currency, furniture, architecture as well as how they slept, ate, worked, relaxed, celebrated holidays, danced, traveled, married, and even used the bathroom. We will write with quill and ink, cook in a colonial kitchen, play games, dance, take photos in colonial attire, in the pillory, and the privy. Decide which of the trades you would have wanted to be an apprentice for. Museum fee to Blount Mansion and James White’s Fort is included in camp fee. We will also visit the old Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Hear the real history of the people and events in our country at birth that you won’t learn in school or from a textbook. From details our flawed founding fathers’ lives to the decisions your ancestors made to support the Colonial Patriots or British Loyalists, you will discover what occurred before, during, and after the Revolutionary War to change our history forever! We will also learn about Knoxville’s and Tennessee’s role in early America and our local founders. Museum feeto Blount Mansion and James White’s Fort is included in camp fee.
