Marine Biologist for a Day

Do you have what it takes to be a Marine Biologist? Spend a day behind the scenes where all the scientific action happens! Experience close encounters with exotic species—from the deep sea to shallow reefs and everywhere in between. You’ll even get to dissect a squid!

Zoologist for a Day

At the Downtown Aquarium, we’re more than just fish! Sign up for Zoologist for a Day and join us for an exciting journey into animal care, conservation, and exploration. Experience the rewarding role of being a zoologist firsthand! Young animal lovers will spend the day learning how we care for creatures that live outside the ocean, including tigers, parrots, reptiles, and more. Participants will go behind the scenes, encounter live animals, build enrichment items, meet our knowledgeable animal care team, and so much more!

Wild Dreams Overnight

Explore the rainforests of the world and learn about conservation through the eyes of a tiger during our Wild Dreams Overnight program. Stay up late, discover fascinating tiger facts, enjoy crafts, go on a scavenger hunt, and sleep within inches of these amazing animals.

Sea Safari Summer Camp

An animal a day keeps you learning and wanting to play! Join the Downtown Aquarium’s Education Department and our animal residents to learn about sharks, rays, octopuses, felines, and parrots. We’ll play games, make crafts, and participate in activities that show what makes these animals unique and how they thrive in their habitats.

Animal Meet and Greets

Get up close with one of our ambassador animals! Depending on the species, you may be able to feed, touch, train, and/or take a photo. Meet our sloth, porcupine, serval, parrots, snakes, lizards, birds of prey, or other small mammals.

Scouts Only! Overnight

You’ve seen the aquarium during the day, but at night it’s a whole different world! Bring your troop to the Downtown Aquarium and explore the wacky and wonderful animals and their habitats while earning your next badge. Program activities include interactive sessions that fulfill badge requirements, crafts, and our Rise ’n Shine breakfast.

School Programs

Hook your students with our fun programs at the Downtown Aquarium! We offer three options for school visits: Self-Guided Tour, Guided Adventure, or a Classroom Program. From Rockin’ the Rainforest to Stupendous Sharks, our classroom programs provide hands-on learning for students in grades K–12 on a wide range of aquatic topics.
