About the Camp

Open summer 2022⏤COVID-ready. For 60+ years, Hidden Valley has been a summer arts camp hosting the finest in Arts and Outdoor programs for children ages 8 to 14.

350 acres with a private lake and heated pool in coastal Maine. Professional staff, individualized teaching, renowned positive community, great food. Directors have lived on site for 20+ years.

Hidden Valley has featured the finest in visual and performing arts, challenging outdoor adventures, horse-riding and much more on 330 acres with a private lake and heated pool near the Maine coast. Develop new skills in 12 art studios, 4 dance and theater spaces, our new ropes course, state-of-the-art stables and spacious playing fields which form the setting for high-quality elective offerings. Professional staff provide challenging individualized teaching and counseling designed to foster independence, community and creativity in all dimensions of children’s summer experience.

Campers come from all over the US and 5 continents. Great food, many choices, support for allergies. Directors have lived on site for over 20 years. My daughters love Hidden Valley Camp in Freedom, Maine. This will be our 4th year! HVC offers 4-week, 8-week, and 2-week "intro" sessions for girls and boys ages 8-14. Campers choose from over 50 classes and activities spanning the visual and performing arts, sports, horseback riding, nature and adventure, and water sports. This year the kids are especially looking forward to paddleboard yoga, glass blowing, and the many resident llamas and alpacas. Every year, my daughters learn new skills and create lasting friendships with children from all over the world. It's a very supportive environment with a 3:1 camper/staff ratio.
