Minecraft: Basics of Motion Camp , Fair Trade Rainforest Farm Camp, Water Challenge Camp, Paleontology Camp & El Camino Camp!

Minecraft Education uses the popular game to provide an academic setting for students. Centering around themes, each camp will provide students with the opportunity to utilize a variety of reading, writing, listening, speaking, technology, social studies, math and science skills to work together toward an objective or goal.

Basics of Motion

Students will use three different tasks to calculate speed or components of speed. They will use the mechanics of the game to experience varying situations with moving objects, solving problems and creating new challenges.

Fair Trade Rainforest Farm (Ages 10 - 14)

The world is set in a rainforest clearing which has been prepared for a Fair Trade farm. The assignment is to re-establish the farm by preparing it to harvest and craft goods to sell to Fair Trade Foundation. Gold coins and monetary trades are required teaching students about a fair trade system.

 Water Challenge (Ages 7 - 12)

This enclosed area contains only a single water source. With few resources for food available, participants must set up a farming operation and feed themselves. To do so they must creatively transport, conserve and build around a limited supply.

Paleontology (Ages 7 - 12)

There's a fossil buried in this region! Start digging to uncover the fossil and try to determine what kind of dinosaur it is. Be careful-as paleontologists, we need to ensure the fossil remains intact.

El Camino (Ages 9-12 )

Take students on an adventure building improved California Missions along El Camino. From jungle areas to desert lands, students must figure out how to leverage resources, work together and successfully build a mission.
