At NSD, we hold the belief that teaching kids debate skills in age-appropriate and enjoyable ways is an invaluable experience. We accomplish this in several ways, including:
- Practice debate tournaments and competitions
- Discussions of issues that our students feel passionate about
- Building skills in public speaking and persuasive writing
- Foundation building of research skills
- Develop critical thinking that enables students to become more advanced readers, writers, and thinkers
These learning opportunities are interwoven with activities and games to make this not merely an educational experience, but a fun and exciting one, as well. We accomplish this in several ways, including:
- Free-days in which our students can enjoy supervised activities, e.g. seeing a movie or attending a waterpark
- Game nights
