The Film and Television industry in Miami has experienced a terrific growth recently, making Miami one of the largest production centers in the United States. The Miami-Dade Office of Film, Print and Television encourages local productions and supplies the industry with no-cost location scouting and permits. This will be a great benefit to Film Academy students. Films such as Casino Royale, Miami Vice and There’s Something About Mary were shot in Miami, as well as a plethora of television commercials and music videos. Throw in the annual Miami International Film Festival, the countless Playhouses and Performing Arts Centers, and it is easy to see why Miami is rapidly becoming a mecca for the arts and the ideal location for the study of filmmaking and acting.
