We offer three adventure opportunities which provide many of our students’ favorite activities set in some of the most scenic sections of the California Coast - Santa Barbara, Big Sur, the Channel Islands, Tahoe area, and Yosemite NP.
Students choose from a plethora of adventure options including: surfing, swimming, mountain biking, rock climbing, sea kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding, and viewing seals and sea lions in their native habitat. SOAR strongly believes that all individuals identified with LD or ADHD possess inherent talents and gifts that can mean incredible success in adulthood, despite the obstacles of childhood, adolescence, and a traditional education system that is usually unable to respond to these students' special needs.

Soar has been a blessing for our son! This is the second year we are sending him there last year was the llama trek in the Smokey mountains for 12 days and when he came back he said he wanted to go longer further so he did Wyoming for a 3 week horsepacking this summer and loved every minute of it! Next year he said he wanted to do two courses he clearly can’t get enough. He always comes back more grown up more aware of his surroundings more organized and more compliant and super happy more importantly! Like I said I cannot thank the staff enough for their patience with our little guy and teaching him how to work better with his peers and control his impulses. Thank you Soar!!
