Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies advances the education of academically talented, intellectually curious students. We offer a range of programs designed to let students dive deeply into their passions.
Programs offered:
Stanford Summer College Academy
Our Summer College Academy hybrid courses are an innovative approach to university-level coursework. Exceptional high school students have the opportunity to choose one intensive undergraduate-level course, approximately half of which will be in Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies’ signature online real-time seminar meetings, and three weeks of which is completed in residence on Stanford’s campus—all with expert and passionate instructors throughout. Each course is university-level work and carries Stanford University Continuing Studies credit.
University-Level Online Math & Physics
These courses bring motivated and academically-talented high school students together to allow them to explore their intellectual passions, develop analytic reasoning and creative thinking, and study directly with expert instructors. These online courses give students the opportunity to take a broad offering of math and physics courses not typically offered in secondary schools. Each course carries Stanford University Continuing Studies credit.
Youth Orchestra
In this three-week intensive orchestral and academic program, academically talented young musicians from around the world come together to learn and perform in the new state-of-the-art Bing Concert Hall. In addition to daily rehearsals and individual and small-group coaching, students attend academic courses in composition, music theory, musicology, or interdisciplinary courses that bring together science, technology, culture, and music.
