Camp Lakewood, located near Potosi, Missouri in the Mark Twain National Forest of the Missouri Ozarks, is a beautiful campsite that has everything to offer. Located just 90 miles Southwest of St. Louis, Camp Lakewood consists of over 5,000 acres of woodlands and over 360 acres of private lake. Camp Lakewood is owned by the YMCA of the Ozarks and hosts hundreds of students throughout the summer. As the site of the STLF National Leadership Camp, Camp Lakewood offers all the amenities of first class facilities, numerous services for teambuilding, challenging, and adventure activities, and much more. All of it settled into a beautiful lakeside location in the Ozarks.
The STLF National Leadership Camp will include high school students from across the country and crew members from across the country and the world, all coming together to build friendships that will last a lifetime, and learn from each otherís experiences to grow in leadership together.
Sleeping accomodations include cabins and lodges located in beautiful wooded valleys and hillsides on the Camp Lakewood grounds. Campers will enjoy their three meals per day together in the glassed-in cafeteria overlooking the lake. Also, with over 30 different clinic areas and organized activity offerings by Camp Lakewood, students will be very active and be given opportunities to explore new things and adventures. These activities include everything from basketball and volleyball to canoeing and yoga. One of the camp highlights will include a ropes course that all students will participate in.
Students from high schools across the nation will leave the STLF Leadership Camp with new friends from across the country. These high school leaders will be using the skills, ideas, and leadership they gained at camp to better their schools, student councils, clubs, and in their community. The ripple of effect of their leadership will be carried out through their community and throughout their lives.
