Summer Equine Camp for Youth

Space is still available for the Great Oaks Summer Equine Camp at Diamond Oaks in Dent and Laurel Oaks in Wilmington. Students between the ages of 11 and 15 can start their summer by learning about the care and handling of horses; the camp offers activities in barn and riding safety, stable operation, care and feeding of horses, grooming, proper lunging techniques, proper mounting and dismounting, riding/proper horse control/rider position.

Two sessions are available: June 1-5 or June 8-12. Classes run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $130.

Space limited; registration will continue until the session is full. Students must be 11-15 years old on June 1, 2015.
