Summer at St. Andrews is an affordable and exciting academic program for students from across the country and around the world. Our programs are designed to foster personal development through academic study and shared experience. Our outstanding array of courses is unique. We accept students who are currently in grades 7-11 (rising 8th - 12th graders in summer 2015).
Our program offers four consecutive one-week long sessions. Students can attend any or all of the sessions. Each curriculum is designed as one-week modules, and students can attend both sessions and continue through the next level without repetition. All of our classes are project-based and hands-on. Class sizes are small and feature talented and experienced faculty.
During the late afternoons and evenings, we devote ourselves to building friend- ships through shared experience. We explore the campus, use the recreational facilities, screen movies, host seminars, enjoy fun activities, and always leave plenty of time at the end of the day to relax and socialize with one another.
After classes, our students enjoy the amenities of a premier college campus. Our Resident Assistants organize exciting activities both for the afternoon period before dinner and for the evening and nighttime. We may enjoy tie-dying, crafting, seminars, movie night, trust games, power of voice exercises, and much more.
Our goal is to integrate leadership activities and public speaking skills into many of our activities. Each student will have the chance to grow and shine, and to develop the confidence and skills that are critical to success in the future.
Evening activities and organized fun are part of the program. Every evening we have an organized group activity, whether it be open mic night at the coffeehouse, movie night, 80s dance night with mocktails, or board games. We also make sure to leave plenty of time to just hang out, as our students request and require time to build and foster friendships with each other by chilling out and talking.
