The Tamwood summer camp in Los Angeles is for international and French Canadian campers who want to learn to speak, read, write and understand English better. Campers are assigned to English classes (with maximum of 15 students per class) according to their English level. Campers take 15 hours per week of English lessons taught by qualified and experience teachers. Drawing campers from Europe, Asia, Mexico, USA, Canada and South America, Tamwood provides campers with a unique opportunity to learn about foreign people and cultures and to meet and make friends with young people from around the world!
Campers attending the Tamwood Summer Camp at UCLA in Los Angeles do a variety of instructional, cultural, recreational, social and sightseeing activities each week. These activities, events and excursions can be grouped into four categories:
Day Time Instructional Activities
– campers select or are assigned to one of these activities three half days per week.
– all campers living in residence take part in a social and/or cultural evening activity each evening.
– campers go on one evening excursion, one or two half day excursions and one full day sightseeing/cultural excursion each week.
– on Sunday, students who are staying over another week can do one of the optional activities offered that day. Most have an additional cost but we always offer one free option each week.
