Rehearsals are conducted in the evenings and on weekends culminating in a final performance showcase.
Tap Advanced Camp is part of the Senior Camp. Campers who are interested in pursuing a BFA at the collegiate level may wish to audition for this advanced section of camp. Campers attend extra private lessons and workshops during Senior Camp. By audition ONLY.
TAP Junior Camps are for ages 9-12. The focus in mainly on musical theatre, combining classes and rehearsals in singing, acting and dancing. We offer a beginning to intermediate camp and an intermediate to advanced camp.
TEXAS ARTS PROJECT
Outstanding teaching, direction, and performance experiences enhance skill, encourage cooperative work, and nurture self-confidence. TAP emphasizes nurturing the imagination and creativity of each camper.
TAP Philosophy
Accept the Challenge
Texas Arts Project strives to create the "complete artist." Each camper chooses a major and devotes at least half of each camp day to an intense study in that chosen field. Additionally, campers take classes and study the other majors. All campers get a taste of performance and teamwork as they learn the opening and closing numbers together.
Discover the Process
The study of any subject begins with the basics and the performing arts at TAP camp are no different. Campers vigorously study the nuts and bolts of their major - from acting techniques and musical theatre history to film editing and body conditioning. Only through intimate awareness with our field can we properly work towards our greatest potential.
Realize Your Potential
At TAP camp, we never lose sight of the final goal. Showcase rehearsals require campers to integrate their technique with strong performance skills. Our rigorous rehearsal process ensures a feeling of accomplishment and personal success with each and every camper's final bow.
