Thalia Kids’ Book Club Camp, geared for 20 avid readers and writers ages 9-12 is spun off from the Thalia Kids’Book Club series. Campers will meet with children’s book authors to discuss their published work and work in progress; be part of a writing workshop exploring stories, poetry, plays and journals; take part in book discussions; participate in drama exercises; go on book-related field trips (such as a visit to the art department at a children’s publishing house to learn about the cover design process or a walking tour of places in a beloved book).
There will be two Thalia Kids’ Book Club Camp sessions – Monday-Friday, August 3-7 and 10-14, from 9am to 3pm (or an extended day, until 6 pm).
For the weeks of July 6-10 and 13-17, kids 8-11 can experience music, dance, storytelling, drama and art from around the world in hands-on workshops lead by professional artists in our Global Arts Camp, also new this summer! This camp is based on our acclaimed Curriculum Arts Project (“CAP”), which uses the arts as a window to the cultures of the world.
The cost for both camps is $600/week, with an optional extended day fee of $150/week. You can sign up for one or both sessions.
