USC - Elite SeriesThe USC Elite Series is a one-of-a-kind elite training camp series hosted at the University of Southern California (USC). Featuring 3 unique 1 day camps, the Elite Series offers a wide range of training for more experience young players. Designed for tournament and potential future college players, the camps are directed by Alison Swain, Head Women’s Tennis Coach at USC, and features a staff of top collegiate players and coaches.
In 2019 we will offer 3 types of camp. 1) A UTR Showcase camp with emphasis on top training and UTR rated match play 2) Advanced Training camp focusing on high-intensity training that replicates a collegiate practice and match setting and 3) College Game Day, a match play emphasis with supplemental strategy and on-court coaching.
These camps are both a great exposure to the collegiate tennis system, as well as a deep dive into the recruiting, training and college prep factors of the game.
UTR Showcase: The UTR showcase camp, Saturday June 8, 2019, will be a one day camp experience that features high intensity training in the morning, a lunch time UTR seminar and UTR rated match play in the afternoon.
The goal of the camp is to expose young players to the increasingly important UTR system. This system is growing in importance in many aspects of the game, including tournament seeding, eligible entry eligibly and most importantly college recruiting.
Advanced Training Camp: Our Advanced Tennis Training camp is a high intensity camp that places an emphasis on proper practice pace, focus and focus. Players will be exposed to many of the advanced tennis strategies focused on at the highest level of college and pro tennis. Point building, match play progressions and singles and doubles strategy will be the key emphasis for the Monday July 22, 2019 camp.
College Game Day Camp: This one day camp, Thursday August 1, 2019, will focus on the collegiate tennis game day experience. Part showcase camp, part college prep, the camp will feature high intensity training in the morning, pre match strategy and scouting seminar during the lunch break, and a full college game day showcase match, featuring both singles and doubles in the afternoon.
