West Star Wilderness

At West Star Wilderness we strive to get adolescent youth out of the city and into the wilderness. Summer months provide ample amounts of free time. It’s time to get off the couch and find adventure.

We know that nature heals. A wide field of research is emerging that tells us something special happens in the wilderness. This research also tells us most people are not getting enough exposure to nature and its benefits.  We believe that the wilderness is our mind and body’s most natural habitat.  Personal change happens here in ways that science is only beginning to understand.

West Star Wilderness creates adventure trips in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains. Some of our teenagers are struggling with social problems, self-esteem, or confidence in themselves.  Some are trying to figure out who they are and where they're going. Others are looking for an adventure that they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

Regardless of whether you are a seasoned outdoors person or never been out of the city, West Star Wilderness adventures require no experience. The wilderness provides an unlimited array of options for learning, challenges, and personal growth. Every trip is uniquely designed to help each young person set personal goals, learn how to achieve them, and experience a sense of success and adventure that they have never found before. The primary and core value on all our expeditions is FUN.  We want young people and adults to experience the outdoors with enjoyment and come back wanting more.  While our trips have physical and mental challenges built in, HAVING FUN is always the end goal.

Excitement, adventure, and life-change can happen in many different places.  Some rest best under a starlit sky.  Others don’t come alive until they’re looking down on the clouds from a mountain top. If the wilderness is calling you, let us help take you there.
