YMCA Camp Topanemus

Camp Topanemus is  a day camp located in Millstone, NJ and borders on the towns of Freehold and Manalapan. Camp hours are 9am to 4pm.   The camp is on 50 acres of trees, grass, playing fields and swimming pools.  All of our programs are based on the YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.  

Safety is our #1 priority.  All our staff  are thoroughly background checked and undergo a rigorous week of staff training prior to working at camp.  Many of our staff are college students studying to work with children or are teachers during the school year.  All our swim instructors are certified lifeguards who teach camp swim lessons.  

Camp Topanemus provides affordability and flexibility to our parents.  Parents can register for only one week or as many as 9 weeks.  We also offer the option of enrolling for all 5 days per week or only 3 days per week.  Parents can enroll throughout the summer.  

Our trained staff offer instruction in baseball, basketball, gymnastics, and soccer. Camp Topanemus offers a variety of  age-appropriate activities for  campers such as zip line, archery, high and low ropes, climbing tower, performing arts, swimming, cooking, splash park, nature, arts and crafts. 

We also have specialty camps for campers who something different than traditional day camp.  Professional magicians teach campers to perform an assortment of magic tricks and illusions in Magic Camp.  Kids develop confidence in public speaking and performance through the use of magic in a fun setting.  

A professional actor teaches improvisation techniques, dance, songs and monologues in Performing Arts Camp.  At the end of Session 1  campers perform in a cabaret to showcase their skills. At the end of Session 2 campers work together to perform the musical “Cinderella” under the director of the professional actor.    

Parents appreciate the convenience of our lunch program. The menu includes pizza on Fridays plus pasta, tacos, subs, chicken fingers and more.  

Camp Topanemus offers many options for working parents.  Before and After camp care is offered at 3 convenient locations: Camp, the Freehold YMCA or the Old Bridge YMCA.  Before care is offered as early as 7am Monday through Friday and after camp care is provided from 4pm to 6:30pm. Activities at  

after camp care include snack, swimming, sports, games and splash park.
