At the YMCA, we’re adapting to the challenges of a changing world to make summer magic happen for your kids.
Summer is a time for kids to stretch their imaginations, learn, and truly play. As families like yours try to maintain a sense of normalcy in a changing world, let the Y be your trusted partner in keeping your children happy, safe, and engaged this upcoming summer.
For roughly a century, the Y’s summer camps have empowered Chicagoland’s youth to do mighty things. No matter what the world looks like next year, we're here to continue giving your kids a healthy environment in which to learn and grow. Last summer, we adapted our offerings to comply with public health guidelines, and all our camps are led by our experienced team, who are passionate about youth development and your child’s safety. Whatever the summer brings, we’re ready for the adventure. Join us and give your kids a learning experience that’ll shape their lives for years to come.
Reasons to camp with us
Our camps meet the moment
No matter what this summer has in store, the Y is ready to bring safe, inclusive summer camp programming to your community. Our in-person camps follow CDC and American Camping Association guidelines, ensuring that our campers and staff are safe while having fun. The Y’s staff are carefully selected to uphold our values of care, responsibility, and equity, and they receive extensive training in first aid, CPR, and updated COVID-19 protocols.
Y camps build connections and lifelong friendships
Social interaction can be hard to come by for kids in these challenging times. The Y’s camps create a space for youth to have fun, make friends, and create lasting memories, bringing a sense of joy and normalcy to their summer.
Flexible schedules mean more options for you and your family
Our camps give families the flexibility to choose what programming options work best for their busy lives. Our Monday through Friday hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. also make pickup and drop-off a breeze.
Your kids will be better prepared for next school year (and life!)
Our camps offer a full day of play and joyful learning experiences that educate, teach new skills, and cultivate personal growth. Your children will be better prepared for the challenges of the upcoming school year and beyond.
