We want to take you on a mind-blowing adventure in one of the most fun outdoor playgrounds on the planet. The eastern side of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains is unparalleled in its awesomeness. The wall of granite that makes up the 14,000-foot peaks of the High Sierra drops into the vast expanse of the Owens River Valley–an area that photographer Ansel Adams called the "most dramatic stretch of scenery in the United States." It's no joke. Once you have been to the “East Side,” as locals call it, you feel you have discovered an adventurer’s paradise.

Based in the postcard-perfect mountain town of Mammoth Lakes, California, this week-long camp is jam-packed with gravity-centric outdoor adventures from the word “go,” including mountain biking at world famous Mammoth Mountain Bike Park, rock climbing and rappelling cliffs up to 100 feet tall, bouldering on a variety of really fun types of problems with lots of crash pads and spotters , hiking in spectacular Yosemite National Park, and lake-kayaking some of the ancient volcanic lakes at the base of the Sierras tallest peaks. No previous experience is required. Participants get highly personalized instruction and are monitored closely for safety in all activities. All that we ask is that you have a positive attitude and a willingness to try.

For many kids who attend Yo! Basecamp, the Sierra have become a home away from home – a place where rock, sky, water, and fresh air meet to create a magical playground of pure fun. Whether the kids are on an Adventure Sports Camp, an Eastside Bouldering Camp, or a High Sierra Climbing Camp, they are sure to experience some of the best outdoor moments of their lives. Our expert instructors focus on guiding youngsters in the skills, mental state, and activities that make them feel good about themselves, giving them the best rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, or kayaking experience possible. The safety techniques that kids are taught at camp become the building blocks of their foundation as safe outdoorspeople. In the great outdoors, safety can encompass many things: walking consciously to the crag on established trails; evaluating the flatness of a boulder problem's landing zone; staying hydrated while mountain biking; and much, much more. As educators we know how important learning the correct skills is to a safe and positive life in the outdoors.

At Yo! Basecamp, kids find that summer camp has never been so much fun. All the things that make outdoor sports are included on every Yo! Basecamp course: exciting activities; supportive, friendly people (both the staff and the campers); delicious food; and a beautiful place. By the week’s end, you will feel like a rock star, an explorer, and a speed demon—a truly exhausted and fulfilled adventurer! Come play with us!
