Experience the inspiring landscape and rich history of Antioch, California. Make sure to visit the Black Diamond Mines, Antioch Waterpark, and the Mangini Agricultural Museum.

Plan a day at the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. As early as the 1860s, coal mining was a huge industry in the Black Diamond area, and was California's largest coal mining operation. Today, Black Diamond is a natural oasis, perfect for hiking, picnicking, and environmental studies. The park presents a variety of hiking trails for all levels of experience. Step into the lives of 19th and 20th Century miners when you stop at the parks two visitor centers, complete with displays, photographs, videos and artifacts. Adults and kids, seven years and older, can even take a tour of the Hazel-Atlas Mine, a silica mine which operated from the 1920s to the 1940s. Camping is also available in the parks multiple campgrounds.

Make a splash at the Antioch Water Park, featuring kid-friendly water slides, a toddler pool, lap pool, and activity pool. With four adult water slides, you can jump in and cool off too! The water park offers tons of fun at family-friendly prices, and the staff of well-trained lifeguards makes it easy for you to sit back, relax, and savor your visit.

Enjoy a little educational fun at the Mangini Agricultural Museum; the perfect addition to the perfect Antioch stay. The museum exhibits all kinds of interesting artifacts relating to the agricultural heritage of the region. With historic farm equipment, a turn of the century blacksmith shop and kitchen, and a restored fire engine on display, you are sure to be entertained while you discover a few unique facts about California Agriculture.
