Let your children embark on an adventure and explore the Mojave Narrows Regional Park. Whether you decide to venture off onto their trails, or go fishing for trout, catfish, or bass along a river bank, this Regional Park is an ideal location for budding explorers. Here, young campers find ample opportunity to increase their knowledge of the outdoors, as well as to experience the majesty of an ancient ecosystem. Aside from the wilderness, their zero depth water park ensures wet-fun for kids of all ages, allowing them to splash, dive, and swim. A separate playground is also open, so that each minute of the day can be filled with its own brand of playfulness. With RV and tent camping available, as well as shelters for groups of various sizes, travelers are free to choose the style of their travels.
Smack in the middle of Apple Valley, the Civic Center Park has a mile of sidewalks that stretch through ample lawns ideal for picnics. Kids are free to run around, roll down the hills, play Frisbee, or join a soccer game. This park also boasts the most magnificent playground in all of Apple Valley, with an area for kids of ages 2-5, and a separate one for kids of ages 5-12. And when the sun is beginning to leave you can make your way to the park’s Amphitheater, where, throughout the summer, Apple Valley hosts a Sunset Concert Series. Fantastic musical acts are offered for free, so that you can dance into the night enjoying the show! Kids travel back in time at the Apple Valley Legacy Museum, where the heroes of this town are remembered through personal artifacts, memorabilia, news clippings, photos, toys, and much more. Including Roy Rogers and Dale Evans among their celebrated members, this museum gives unprecedented access into the life of “The King of the Cowboys,” allowing kids to peek behind the making of some of the most memorable cowboys and cowgirls, and to enjoy the unique world of Westerns.
