Enjoy all that culturally diverse Chula Vista has to offer. Get to know sea life at The Living Coast Discovery Center, rev up your imagination at Kid Ventures, and saddle up at the Sweetwater Horse Camp!. Take a look at our exciting camps offered in Chula Vista, CA

Learn about the local creatures that live in and out of the water at The Living Coast Discovery Center. Kids can say hello to sea turtles, touch a friendly ray or the sandpaper skin of a shark, and meet a snowy egret in the shorebird aviary. See the amazing range of plants that grow in the San Diego area, participate in an environmental compost demonstration to learn how to keep gardens healthy, or walk along the trails to spot wildlife in its natural habitat. For an extra special encounter, join their fun and education day camps offered year-round and even during school breaks, for ages 4 to 18. Camp programs include, Shark Bites, for pre-k to kindergarten and Survivor – A Shark’s Tale for 1st to 3rd graders.

Watch your children try out different careers and play in the grownup world at Kid Ventures. Spark imaginations and encourage pretend play as kids shop for groceries at the market, put on an impromptu show at the theater, care for baby dolls at the nursery, and cook a meal at the diner. Kids will engage in their seasonal day camps, with flexible schedules fit for busy parents. Camps offer the opportunity to improve gross motor skills, dress up like pirates and princesses and participate in performances.

Spend a day with your favorite companion at the Sweetwater Horse Camp. Kids will learn everything about horses including, riding, and grooming, feeding, bathing and general care. A typical horse day camp consists of preparing your horse for departure, riding out to the trail, and concluding with the closing up the stable. For the smaller kids, the Pony Time Camp is the perfect choice. Little girls and boys will learn grooming and how adorn their ponies, horsemanship and play pony riding games. More advanced riders will experience formal riding lessons and stable management every day. A final competitive show will be offered to those interested in the challenge!
