Sunnyvale, in the heart of Silicon Valley, is a clean, safe suburban city that prides itself on quality schools, parks, and city services. Many famous higher learning institutions and companies like Stanford and Yahoo! reside here, making Sunnyvale a great place of opportunity for your family. While the kids are still young, take the short drive to the Pacific Ocean, redwood forests, and Lake Tahoe for outdoor adventures and stunning scenery. Play like animals at Safari Run, a healthy and fun entertainment center, with open play time on its elephant shaped playground. Their summer camps are for ages 5-7 and aim to teach kids about exercise and health, while having fun. Throughout the week, kids will do art projects, have themed readings, climb on the play structure, eat nutritious snacks, and play games that go along with that week's theme. All staff members are high school and college students interested in working with kids and with CPR and first aid training. This cooking school designed specifically for kids, offers classes in a safe environment and teaches students to be creative, while incorporating culinary skills. In special times of the year, kids can join Camp Can-I-Cook mini camps, which range from themes of "Cool Treats" to "Chocolate Adventure." KinderCooks is a specially designed program on basic nutrition, movement, and age appropriate recipes for little chefs. Birthday parties can be especially tasty at YCA, as each guest gets to make and eat their own creation!

If your kids are always climbing all over everything, then take them to Planet Granite, a rock climbing gym with yoga and fitness classes. Programs for ages 5-18 years old are provided after-school and include five weeks of climbing games, acquiring new skills, and making new friends! Friday nights are Parent's Night Off, where you can drop the kids off for climbing and dinner, while you can have some time for relaxation. In the summer and winter, week long camps are offered to teach kids about climbing. Parents can enjoy a yoga class, while your child is off climbing.
