Transport yourself to a time before humans roamed the Earth at The Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Your kids will feel like a real paleontologist as they dig for dinosaur bones and study the fossils under the lens of a microscope. Encourage their inner scientist at they ponder outer-worldly materials such as that of a meteorite. Once they've solved the mysteries of the universe, show them the dioramas of traditional Native American life and give them a taste of travel and other cultures. Archaeology, paleontology, and history camps are also available during the summer.
Marvel in the beauty of a red-tailed hawk at the Cascades Raptor Center. Watch your child as they spot their first eagle, and see birds up close and out of the cage at one of the many feedings and demonstrations. Animal lovers will enjoy studying feathers, eggs, and skulls on display. Let the kids work through the array of science projects, jigsaw puzzles, and word games provided for their amusement. Swing by for a session of Reading with Raptors to finish off an amazing day!
