FRCS - Summer 2013 (Fine Arts, Athletics, Summer Enrichment Week) Jeff Haanen 

Fine Arts 

Title of Camp: Early Elementary Drama Camp 

Ages: K-3 

Camp Description: Students will learn stage production and acting techniques through the rehearsal process for a group performance on Friday afternoon. This is a great opportunity to build confidence and friendships while having fun this summer! Students should bring a water bottle, morning snack and sack lunch all 5 days. The performance will be in the PAC at 2 pm on Friday. Fee includes T-shirt.

Cost: $150 

Title of Camp: Upper Elementary Drama Camp Ages: Grades 4-6 

Camp Description: This is designed to help students explore drama and musical theater whether they are a beginner or seasoned actor! Students will participate in workshops throughout the week while putting together a play to be presented on the last day. Students should bring a water bottle, morning snack and sack lunch all 5 days. The performance will be in the PAC at 2 pm on Friday. Fee includes T-shirt.

Title of Camp: Rock Band Camp 

Ages: Grades 7-12 

Camp Description: Students will improve their ability to sing or play their individual instrument as well as learning to play in an ensemble setting. Open to grades 7-12 for students who already play an instrument (piano, guitar, bass or percussion) or sing. Time and Date: June 24-28; 8:30am-12pm, M-F

Title of Camp: Elementary Volleyball Camp Ages: Grades 3-5 

Camp Description: For those who want to improve on skills learned in the past or those who are just beginning - FRCS volleyball camp is the place to be. We will spend a week reinforcing the basic skills of volleyball and the teamwork essential to the game. The camp will feature great Falcon athletes who love the game of volleyball.

Time and Date: June 3-6, 8-11am

Title of Camp: Jr/Sr High Volleyball Camp Ages: Grades 6-8 

Camp Description: For those who want to improve on skills learned in the past or those who are just beginning - FRCS volleyball camp is the place to be. We will spend a week reinforcing the basic skills of volleyball and the teamwork essential to the game. The camp will feature great Falcon athletes who love the game of volleyball.

Title of Camp: Beginner Girls and Boys Soccer Camp Ages: Grades 1-8 

Camp Description: This five day camp is a teaching program for players of all levels to improve their technical skills with the ball. We will focus on the fundamentals of the game including trapping, passing, shooting and dribbling. This camp is a great alternative to Private Soccer Sessions in that we work on the same detailed technique to make sure each player is equipped for more advanced levels of soccer. Players are grouped by age and ability.

Ages: Grades 1-8 

Camp Description: This five day camp is designed for intermediate to advanced players (or kids who already play the sport), although we welcome anyone who wants to join us! We will focus on both technical and tactical skills including but not limited to, first touch, passing, shooting, defending and one-on-one attacking. Whether you are a defender, keeper, or forward, this camp will help take your game to the next level. This camp will provide a great opportunity for young athletes to learn some of the life and spiritual lessons that can be taken from the world’s most popular sport!

Title of Camp: Speed and Agility Camp 

Ages: Grades 3-8

Camp Description: Establishing proper foot drive, running form, and rhythm are the key elements in reaching your speed and agility potential. Using direct clear examples and a proven system your athlete will begin to manipulate his or her body and move with a rhythm that will optimize their athletic potential.

A group of highly skilled coaches, players, and former players will invest in your athlete helping them to get the most out of this short camp. Fundamentals are the great equalizer in football; and by teaching your athlete the proper way to block, pursue, pass, catch, carry a football and many other position focused skills they will gain an edge on the field of competition.

Title of Camp: Rugby

Ages: Grades 3-8

Camp Description: Spring into rugby at this five day Rugby summer camp, perfect for beginners and experienced rugby kids. Participants will learn, develop and test their running, passing, catching, kicking and decision making abilities through several skill based games and activities, scrimmages and a culminating "rugby skills combine." All activities will be age and ability appropriate. With an emphasis on safety, fun and being active, campers will "learn through doing" with our USARugby coaching staff. This camp will allow children more time to grow as rugby players and make new friends in the process. Every aspiring rugby player will benefit from this camp. Lunch Provided Time and Date: June 10-14, 9am-300pm

Title of Camp: Rock Climbing 

Ages: Grades 9-12 

Camp Description: Do you enjoy adventure? Colorado’s Front Range offers the perfect backdrop for all kinds of adventure sports. This camp will focus on both Rock Climbing and Mountain Biking in Front Range Christian School’s backyard. Students will be exposed to several different skills and experiences in each sport. 

Rock Climbing Skills: FRCS Rock Climbing camp will take place outdoors and cover basic technical skills of rock climbing and the fundamentals of climbing movement. Students will experience real rock in Colorado’s Front Range locations. Students will learn many climbing skills such as knots, belaying, rappelling and anchoring.

Participants should bring their own lunch each day. Time and Date: June 3-7, 9am-4pm 

Leading the Camp: Mr. Jeremy Wall, M.A. Location: Start at FRCS, travel to the mountains

Cost: $275 (includes transportation and equipment rentals) 

(MAX 20 Enrollment)

 

Title of Camp: Baseball BIGinnings Ages: Grades 3-8

Description: This camp is a great introduction to the fundamentals of baseball taught in a context of Christian character. Each day we will meet in the Performing Arts Center and go over our daily "Game Plan" which will include our character lesson for the day.

We tie the lesson into our drills and coaching. We end each day at the PAC for chalk-talk or coaches comments. Friday will include a Whiffle Ball World Series and Bar-B-Q. Time and Date: June 3-7, 9am-12pm
