Gan Israel is part of the largest and fastest growing network of Jewish day camps in the world. Gan Israel enjoys a well-earned reputation as a trendsetter with innovative ideas, creative programs and new activities.

Junior Gan Israel Day Camp, under the capable direction of Mrs. Zeesy Posner, has developed a far reaching reputation as a superlative program for Jewish children ages two-and-a-half to six years old. Junior Gan Israel is staffed by a full complement of early childhood educators who have worked extensively with pre-school age children. The children receive individualized attention and care in a loving Jewish environment. The staff to child ratio is less than 1 to 5.

This complete summer package includes music, field trips, crafts and games, indoor and outdoor fun - all in a warm and vibrant Jewish atmosphere, and geared to your child's age, interests and abilities. Field trips are carefully selected for safety and appeal. Swimming takes place at Oakton Water Playground. Special features include professional sports instruction and a widely acclaimed gymnastics program. Each week emphasizes a different special theme, which is conveyed in the songs, crafts and other activities of the week.

Snacks and drinks are provided. Special lunches are provided twice during the summer. Transportation to and from camp is available on an optional basis. Junior Gan Israel runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the option of an additional afternoon enrichment program, 1:00 to 3:30 The Bright Beginnings Program is especially for our youngest campers 2-3. Children ages 2-1/2 to 3 may be enrolled in either the Bright Beginnings Program or the regular program. The Bright Beginnings Program has these special features: Children may attend 2, 3, or 5 days per week. The staff-to-child ratio is lower. Children can be picked up at 12:00 or may stay for lunch and be picked up at 1:00 with the older children. Bright Beginners do not go on field trips or to swim at Oakton Water Playground. Each day is chock full of crafts, indoor and outdoor fun, and a broad range of enriching activities.

Camp is located at Arie Crown Hebrew Day School, 4600 Main St., in Skokie. The bright and spacious building, air-conditioned classrooms and lovely playground are located on a beautiful campus. Camp runs from June 25 to August 3, in two three week sessions. Before camp, parents and campers are invited to an orientation to become acquainted with the staff, fellow campers and the facilities. You may enroll your child for one session or the entire summer. This is a very popular program and fills up quickly. Be sure to register your child early to assure a slot for your child. Junior Gan Israel Day Camp is a project of Lubavitch Chabad of Skokie, and is an affiliate of the Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago.
