CHA Level 1 Western Horsemanship School
Become a horseman (or horsewoman), not just a rider! Learn essential "Horse Sense" principles and put them into practice as you safely care for and handle horses on the ground. Study the parts of the horse and western riding equipment. Halter, tie, groom and saddle your own steed. And of course, spend hours in the saddle developing your ability to control a horse up through the trot.
This equally fun and educational school is taught by CHA Certified Horseback Riding Instructor, Alexis Davidovich. Successful completion of CHA Level 1 Western requirements will earn a CHA Level 1 Western Certificate and option to attend the Level 2 Horsemanship School.

CHA Level 2 Western Horsemanship School
Attend our CHA Level 2 Western School if you have successfully completed CHA Level 1. By now you have learned to safely ride your horse with some confidence. You can use the four aids to control your horse at the walk, trot, stop, circle and reverse. You have been introduced to approaching, haltering, leading, grooming and tacking up of your horse.
As a Level 2 rider, you will learn more about how the four aids work and how to put them to better use. You and your horse will develop a unique partnership as you better understand his nature and develop more balance. Ground areas of study include catching and turnout, safe tying, cool out, and stable chores.

Horsemanship Schools will run 9am – 3pm Monday thru Friday. All participants are required to wear proper attire including boots with a heel, long pants and riding helmet (we are able to provide helmets if you dont have your own). All learning materials are included in the price of the school. Classes are limited to 8-10 people and are on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit due upon registration and an additional $250 due one week before the start of each school.
