REACH Camp

During Labor Day week, HIV/AIDS-infected children and their families, siblings included, will join together at REACH Camp. This annual camp is filled with fun activities like boating, archery, horseback rides, campfires, education, and support groups. The first two days are open to high school and young adult campers who will participate in fun and creative leadership training. All family members arrive at noon on Friday of Labor Day weekend. Confidentiality is maintained at all times.

REACH provides transportation to and from camp, housing and meals for all families!

Children of the families may invite a close friend of theirs to attend camp with them. All guests will also be required to have a medical screening. For any young adult participating without an accompanying adult, you will receive an extended REACH family during your stay.

All are excited to return to the ranch located on the Key Peninsula lake in the midst of tall pines. For those of you who have not previously attended, imagine a camp that is a safe haven for physical, emotional or spiritual support through opportunities to sing, dance, ride horses, walk in the woods, and make many friends.

A day at camp may include trail rides, canoe rides, or archery. Age appropriate activities may include a rodeo, masquerade ball, and hoe-down or arts and crafts. Campers will have many choices of activities, and quiet areas are readily available.

Once again, we have secured an extraordinary volunteer team of physicians, nurses, psychologists, dieticians and social workers for our camp staff. Many staff have returned from last year, desiring to be a part of families' lives during this camp and the years to come.
