Summer at ChiArts

A three-week summer camp designed for students in grades K-5 and 6-8 to explore the artistic disciplines of Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts in a joyful and nurturing environment, led by the expert teaching artists from the Chicago High School for the Arts. Campers will receive pre-professional training in the arts and create original pieces for performance and showcase.

K-5 Exploratory Camp 

Students in Grades K-5 will explore the art of expression in Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Art through different fun and exciting themes. A performance will be held each Friday showcasing the students’ work throughout the week. Students may attend all three weeks of camp or individual weeks featuring new creative projects!

ChiArts Jr.

Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts and Creative Writing

July 18-29, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm (students bring bag lunch)

Tuition: $700

Students in grades 6-8 experience what it’s like to be ChiArts scholar-artist! For four hours each day, students are immersed in excellent pre-professional training in the conservatory of their choice, culminating in a final showcase of their work on Friday, July 29.

Music 

String Camp

July 11-15, 9:00am-2:00pm (students bring bag lunch)

Tuition: $350

String players in grades 6-8 with at least one year of experience are welcome to join us for a week of fun and intensive music making in an ensemble of students from all over Chicago, culminating in a performance on Friday, July 15.

Band Camp

July 18-22, 9:00am-2:00pm  (students bring bag lunch)

Tuition: $350

Woodwind, brass, and percussion players in grades 6-8 with at least one year of experience are welcome to join us for a week of fun and intensive music making in an ensemble of students from all over Chicago, culminating in a performance on Friday, July 22.

Voice Camp

July 25-29, 9:00am-2:00pm  (students bring bag lunch)

All singers or aspiring singers in grades 6-8 are welcome to join us for a week of fun and intensive music making in an ensemble of students from all over Chicago, culminating in a performance on Friday, July 29.
