The Claire Trevor School of the Arts which houses the famed UCI Drama Department has a 47 year history of excellence. With seven of their alumni currently appearing on Broadway and one starring in the hit TV show SMASH, it has proven itself to be a national leader in training emerging performers. Its faculty enthusiastically embraces these workshops and commits itself to helping shape the growth of our next generation of artists.
Are you or are you on your way to becoming a "triple threat"? The drama faculty at UC, Irvine has designed a conservatory intensive to help hone students' essential skills so they are prepared for the demands of a Broadway career. Campers will take part daily in intensive voice, acting, and dance workshops taught by the outstanding college faculty who have years of Broadway experience. This Musical Theater Conservatory Camp curriculum consists of workshops that will focus on acting, improvisation, scene study, song study and interpretation, vocal instruction, dance for musical theater, audition techniques, performance analysis, and a brief history of musical theater. Students will have a "work in progress" showing on the last day of camp.
