Summer 2006
In Post Counselor
Live and work with 12 campers and a co-counselor in a cabin area. Assist campers in enjoying and learning about the outdoors. Camp includes Bible study, worship, swimming, crafts, games, ropes course, and hiking. Special activities include liturgical dance, horse science, animal care, backpacking, canoeing, outdoor cooking, biking, sports, stargazing, and more! Knowledge of, and ability to lead, one or more of these activities is a plus! Counselors may also rotate into one of the following positions: Lifeguard, Ropes & Recreation Assistant, or Transportation Assistant.
Outpost Counselor
Live in the outpost most weeks with about 12 campers and a co-counselor. Help cook meals over a fire, maintain a wilderness site, and also includes all responsibilities of inpost counselor.
Section Leader
Live in one of three sections on main camp. Provide leadership in activities, offsite programs, check-in and check-out, with prayer and support for staff, and discipline procedures for campers and staff for camps in your section each week. You will be supervising 8-12 staff in your section each week. Nightly rounds of section till all are asleep, campers and staff, this may require late nights.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Deep faith in Christ and ability to share with others.
Experience with children ages 6-17.
Clean driving record with valid driver’s license.
Have an ability to think quickly under pressure.
Outpost Leader
Must be 21 years of age or older, drive campers between outpost and main camp. You will be supervising the staff by providing leadership and direction. You will also be responsible for food, equipment, and upkeep of three sites. Need to be comfortable with outdoor camping including building fires and lashing.
Sit/Cit Leader
Must be 21 years of age or older, facilitate the spiritual growth, increase of knowledge of camp activities, and training in working with kids for SITs /CITs. Supervise the cleaning of camp facilities and also supervise and live with the youth ages 14-18. A deep faith in Christ and the ability to share that faith with others is required, along with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
