Camp Moomba is place for kids impacted by HIV/ AIDS.  Camp Moomba is a community based on equality, friendship, and support.  Year after year campers and counselors are reunited at camp, sharing smiles, laughter, stories, and fun.  It’s a chance for these kids to come together in a camp community where the stigma of HIV does not exist.  Our camp motto, from the Australian Aboriginal word ‘Moomba’ is “Friends Together Having Fun!”  Most of our families are in difficult socio-economic situations, which is why we provide the entire experience at no cost.  We are the only camp for kids impacted by HIV in Canada.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrator will be responsible for all administrative duties including tax receipting, answering the phone, office duties, as well as other projects associated with Camp Moomba and its fundraising events.

Responsibilities:

o         Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

o         Several years directly related experience in office administration

o         Maintain payroll, payables, receivables, bank account and record keeping systems

o         Tax receipting and donor recognition

o         Deliver a high degree of customer service and establish and maintain donor database

o         Maintain office supplies.

o         Assist in creating marketing campaigns and mail-outs.

o         Assist with resource development initiatives including funding proposals, fundraising events, and supporting donor recognition

o         Meet or exceed all targets and timelines relating to administrative duties

o         Work to further the interests of Moomba through active participation in community initiatives.

o         Overseeing and supporting existing programs , activities and other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

·          An undergraduate degree in a related field together with a minimum of three years administrative experience

·          Working knowledge and related experience with office practices, procedures and records management.

·          Well-developed business writing, organizational, time management, interpersonal and public relations skills.

·          Demonstrated keyboarding skills.

·          Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

·          Experience in child and youth recreation sector programs is an asset.

·          Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

·          Computer and data management experience, with working knowledge of MS Office and registration systems.

·          Superior organizational and time management skills.

·          Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure and remain focused within a constantly changing work environment.

·          Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

·          Valid BC Driver's License (class IV an asset)
