Description

While working at ASNC Summer Camp is a lot of fun, it is also very demanding. You will be asked to work long hours and the demands of the job will leave you mentally and physically exhausted at times. However, the satisfaction in knowing that you have improved the quality of another person’s life is tremendous. By the end of the summer you will find you are stronger, more patient, more confident, and more compassionate than the day you arrived.

All staff members are age 18 and older, with the average age of our counselors being 22. Most are college students or teachers, although neither is a requirement for employment. All staff must have complete references, an interview and a background check before being hired.


	College credit can be earned for working at camp. Please contact us for more information about this possibility and we will work with you.

Counselor salaries at ASNC Summer Camp compare favorably with other camps. First year counselors are paid $400 every two weeks. Our staff are given time off from late Friday afternoon until early Sunday afternoon, as well as one full 24-hour period during the week. Supervision in camper cabins at night is rotated so that staff are off most nights. Further compensation includes free room & board for the entire camp season and a week of training. Staff are not required to work the entire summer, although it is strongly preferred.
