Dear staff,

Summer 2007 is almost upon us! In an effort to continue providing top quality programs to our campers, camp is asking YOU to join our summer staff team!  Contact camp to reserve your position at camp. 

To ensure the highest quality programming for campers, each program will require Nurses, a Program Director, Head Counselors, Program Specialists and enough Counselors to enable camp to maintain a 1:4 staff to camper ratio.  Lifeguards and kitchen staff are also essential to the program.   Providing a caring qualified staff is very important to the success of our program.  Persons interested in working in one of the above capacities should contact the Camp Director as soon as possible.  Staff is encouraged to pass on camp’s contact information to interested parties!  Ideally, staff sign up for the entire summer experience.  If, however, you can only give a few days or weeks of your time, please contact the Director to customize a work plan.

Paid Internships, Externships, Practicum and volunteer/community service hours are available!

Easter Seals Camp Summer Schedule 2007

Camp season will jump start with the annual camp fundraiser - the Fishing Tournament!  We will also be holding a weekend program just prior to Staff Training getting underway.  The regular camp season goes from May 20^th – July 27^th. Note: Respite season will start up in August, 2007; contact the camp office for more info. and to sign up to work.  

May 4-5            Fishing Tournament

May 18-20         TBI Weekend: For children & adults who have a traumatic brain injury. 

May 20-25         Staff Training: mandatory for all summer staff.

May 27-June 1 Session #1—Adults with Developmental Disabilities.

June 3-8           Session #2—Autism Week.  Note: Extra staff is needed to work just this week of camp.

June 10-15       Session #3—Adults with Physical Disabilities.  

June 17-22       Session #4—Performing Arts Camp.

June 24-29       CAMP CLOSED

July 1-6            Session #5—Children with Physical Disabilities.

July 8-13          Session #6—Children with Developmental Disabilities.

July 15-20         Session #7—Traumatic Brain Injury.

July 22-27         Session #8—Adults with Developmental Disabilities.

Positions:       

NURSE – RNs, LPNs, Nurse Practitioners, PAs and graduating Nursing students can apply to work one or more of the summer programs.  Returning staff please contact camp with availability!  Private residence provided to medical staff.

Program Director – must be available all summer; at least 21years old and have prior summer camp work at Easter Seals Camp, TN, preferably in a leadership role.

Head Counselors – must be available all summer, and have prior summer camp experience.

Program Specialists – Specialists hired in ART, SPORTS, NATURE, MUSIC, WATER activities, CAMPING, etc.

Counselors – must be at least 18 years old.  Training provided!

Lifeguards – must be at least 18 years old; camp will recertify expired applicable certifications.

Kitchen staff – Camp is hiring Cooks and Dishwashers; shift work available.

CIT Program: There will be a counselor-in-training program throughout the summer for 15-17 year olds.
