Kennolyn Camps

Perhaps the hardest job you will ever love!

Kennolyn is a family owned camp since opening in 1946, our founders names were Uncle Max and Aunt Marion.  They named Kennolyn after their two children (KENNeth and carOLYN).  Carolyn is our Associate Director and Ken's daughter Pam is our General Manager. We are still one big happy family and want you to join us for the best summer of your life.

We are located in the Santa Cruz mountains, just 5 miles from the beautiful California beaches and surf spots.  With 300 acres of Redwood forests to play in we offer may activities and are looking for counselors to share their skills and knowledge with eager young campers.  We have 3 ropes courses, 2 climbing walls, horseback riding, swimming, ball sports, arts and crafts, drama, ceramics, fun science, trapeze, surfing, adventure, fencing, soccer and much more.

As a counselor, you are responsible for the welfare of our campers. You may be assigned as a Cabin Counselor, who acts a surrogate parent and lives in the cabin with up to 8 boys or girls.  You teach activities during the days and enjoy camp life in the evenings with events like Campfire, Outpost, Goldrush, Dutch Auction, Counselor Dress-up etc.

A General Counselor is assigned to help with a cabin and lives with other General Counselors.  You teach an extra activity during the day and take over Cabin duties when the Cabin Counselor is off.

Non-activity days at camp include Beach Day, Boardwalk, Outpost (Camp out), Water Carnival, Free Choice and Friday Funday!!!
