La Compagnie des Nomades is looking for exceptional individuals to fill the position of guide for is bilingual cycling trips during the summer of 2006. 12 guides are needed for trips in Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes, Vancouver Island and the Adirondacks (USA) The guide is responsible for 12 young campers between 13 and 17 years old for the duration of the camp i.e. 11 to 24 days. He or she must be a counsellor and a facilitator. The camp is bilingual (French and English) and encouraging campers to improve their second language is an important part of the job. The guide must ensure that activities unfold according to plan. Each guide works in a team with another guide. Required Skills: Bilingual English-French (functional) Extensive experience working with teenagers Cycling, travelling and /or camping experience Strong Leadership Skills First Aid Certification Mountain biking skills/certification is considered an asset 20 years and older To be or plan to be a student Length of Contract: 9 weeks (June 16th 2006 – August 18th 2006) 1 week paid training, plus 8 weeks of trips on the road.
