Job Description
Hidden Valley Camp's Community Program. Program features community living and service projects throughout Maine and within the Hidden Valley community for children ages 14 and 15. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan projects for group of teens; goals for activities are to become active members of the local community, learn more about how communities are formed and operate, and how to be a participating member of those communities, and help them learn to lead and manage the micro community in which they live. Projects may include: restoring natural resources, working with younger children and the elderly and volunteering at local fairs and festivals. The Community Program lives on a 17- acre off-the-grid farmstead, with a large garden and private space for exploration. The group prepares some of its own meals and explores community projects around the state of Maine. QUALIFICATIONS: Experienced group leaders familiar with community living principles, community service experience, and knowledge of how to manage group dynamics. Must be able to create and implement a program that will inspire cooperative living.
